Getting there
Dresden-Klotzsche Airport has mostly domestic and holiday charter flights. By train, Dresden is just over two hours south of Berlin-Hauptbahnhof. From Leipzig choose from hourly ICE trains (1hr) or RE trains (2hr). The S-Bahn runs half-hourly to Meissen (40min). There are connections to Frankfurt (5hr) and Prague (2.5hr). Dresden is connected to Leipzig via the A14/A4, to Berlin via the A13/A113 and to the Czech Republic via the B170 south.
Getting around
Public transport is operated by Dredsner Verkehrsbetriebe, which has several information kiosks, including one outside the Hauptbahnhof. The S2 train serves the airport from the Hauptbahnhof (23min) and Dresden-Neustadt (14min). Taxis line up at the Hauptbahnhof and Neustadt station, or you can call tel: 211 211. For short hops within the Altstadt, consider a Velotaxi pedicab, a cheaper option than conventional taxis. Bicycle hire is available at the Hauptbahnhof and Neustadt stations for a reasonable daily rate.
