Westfalen Park
Dortmund's inner-city green lung is a haven for sunning, strolling and smelling the roses. The park features the blooming lovely German National Rosarium, lakes, walking paths and the Florianturm, a 220m-high TV tower complete with observation decks and revolving restaurant. The best view in Dortmund!
Dortmund Brewery Museum
Given Dortmund's beer-brewing pedigree it would be a shame not to take this museum tour in the old Hansa Brewery, culminating with a generous beer tasting and souvenir glass. Learn about production, bottling and the brewing of Dortmund beers, which include the DAB label. True aficionados can also tour the working Dortmund Actien Brewery.
Zollern Industrial Museum
The industrial heyday of Dortmund and the Ruhr region has been carefully preserved in a heritage trail of mining works and factories that make up the Westphalian Industrial Museums. If it all sounds a bit dull, check out historic Zollern Colliery, which was considered a state-of-the-art coal mine when it opened in 1902.
