Getting there & Getting around

Getting there

Liechtenstein has no airport; the nearest ones are in Friedrichshafen (Germany) and Zürich (Switzerland), with train connections to the Swiss border towns of Buchs (via Romanshorn) and Sargans, respectively. From each of these towns, there are usually three buses an hour to Vaduz. From Austria, buses run every 30 minutes from Feldkirch. You sometimes have to change at Schaan to reach Vaduz.

Getting around

The postbus is a cheap and reliable form of transport in Liechtenstein, but as some services finish early you should check the times posted on stops or get hold of a timetable from the tourist office.

Visa information

Citizens of Australia, Canada, the EU, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA do not require visas for visits of up to three months. The regulations for Liechtenstein are the same as those for Switzerland, and there are no border checks between those two countries.
