don't like that much

i don't really like cologne. a lot of it was damaged in the war. the cathedral is outstanding and there is a small historic quarter.otherwise there are lots of ugly buildings here and the people aren't as nice as in other parts of Germany. i found it one of the least historic cities in Germany.

My favourite place

I lived in cologne for a few years. It is a beautiful place with so much to see and do. The locals are friendly to tourists. Eating out is cheaper than the uk, with a huge choice of restaurants, a visit to a traditional BrauHaus is a must. Things to do include a visit to the chocolate museum, a day trip to phantasialand theme park (take the U-Bahn, much cheaper than other train). Michael Schumacher's Kart Track is also nearby, but hard to get to without own car. Take a trip to cologne, it's wonderful!!

Great city of outstanding beauty

I absolutely loved all the different style old (and I mean OLD!) churches, there is nothing quite like it, you can just marvel how beautiful the gothic cathedral "Dom" is for hours on end, not to mention the countless roman churches. Shopping is a true pleasure, with lots of individual boutiques and places to browse and find unique things, rather than chain stores. And the nightlife is wonderful, there is something for everybody, if you want to just sit and chill in a beer garden, have a more formal dinner out or go dancing, it's all there. Get to Cologne and ENJOY!!!

The most beautiful City in Germany !

Cologne is a big City with heart and a very warm atmosphere, the people are very friendly and helpful. The "Kölsch" taste very good and the "halven Hahn" is delicious.Beautiful City !
