(Report Problem)A beautiful coastal city, with great seafood, friendly people, and a wonderful mix of Chinese charm, and western feel

(Report Problem)Qingdao is a favorite coastal holiday getaway for the local Chinese from the other parts of China. It is one of the rare places where you get to see German architecture, as it was a German colony twice over. Unlike the other Chinese cities, you do not get to see a large number of people on bicycles as Qingdao is quite hilly. As such locals are not so keen on bicycles. Getting around the city is quite easy. Flag a cab or take the local bus. The meter for the cab starts at 7 yuan. Most buses are either 1 yuan or 2 yuan (air-conditioned) for the complete journey. Qingdao boasts of a beer festival in the middle of the year since it is also famous for its Qingdao beer.
