We will never go back!
We planned our trip for months, being on a limited budget with limited time. Fantasyland Hotel sounded like the perfect get-a-way, convenient, fun and the right price. Upon arriving we checked into the Polynesian room again exactly what we expected. Until at 12:30 AM we started to smell smoke coming out of our vents. We immediately phoned the front desk, they promptly informed us they would send someone up to check our vents and find out if they could shut them off or fix the problem. After waiting 1/2 hour with no one showing up we received a phone call from the front desk...informing us that they found a customer in a room close to ours who admitted to smoking. We asked if they had been fined and they said no. It is a health hazard for me to be in a smoking room, due the fact I am 4 mths pregnant. Then he informed us he could move us to a different room, but not to another Polynesian room, the one we had paid for. We were exhausted and accepted his offer to move us to the Victorian Coach room. He finally moved us to the new room at 1:30, an hour after the incident and we had to request for him to move our luggage. He apologized and offered us 2 free breakfasts (of which we already had with our Fantasyland Fun Package). Upon arriving in the new room, we promptly went to bed. After trying to fall asleep for 30 mins. we realized that the heater would not stop blowing out hot air. So, we opened the window. Problem solved. Then we started to hear a dripping sound. Much to our dismay, both the jacuzzi & the sink were dripping. To make matters worse the bed was extremely hard. I finally fell asleep at 4AM in the morning. At 3AM we pondered calling the front desk again...but what was the use if it would take 1 hour to move us again. At that point in time we decided to discuss what had happened in the morning with the manager as the night front desk person had promised us. Upon check out, my husband talked to the check out lady. Who informed him she was very sorry for what happened but there was nothing she could do. After debating with her for 15 mins she finally gave us $25 off of our bill. No good! We asked to talk to the manager. We were told he was in a meeting and to come back later. We asked when, they would not tell us a time. No problem, we went to the mall and toured for a couple of hours. Upon returning my husband asked again. Again, he was in a meeting. So, we decided to go to someone higher. He talked to the headoffice in the mall, and promptly received an appointment with him. To make a long story short. We were told it was not the hotels fault that one of its patrons was caught smoking in a non-smoking room. There would be no compensation for our room, except for the breakfast and the $25. The hotel was not willing to do anything more, regardless of whether or not it was a health risk. We were also informed, had we asked, we would have been moved to another hotel. Due to how we were treated as paying customers, we will never go to Fantasyland Hotel again.
