Silvermine Bay, Mui Wo, Hong Kong…
More and Maps
If you want a hotel outside of the bustling and expensive central business districts consider this resort haven. With beaches, ocean and mountain views, and numerous recreation options you will forget the city is just a ferry ride away. Plus, you will be hard pressed to find such stylish rooms with such excellent views for such a good price. In-house restaurants serve Chinese and Western cuisine, and the Silvermine Lounge is popular for its after-dinner music. Long term rates are available.

Good Hotel right on the beach. Stayed there in October and the weather was comfortable. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Nothing ellaborate though. Restaurant there was fairly good. A 5 minute (very nice walk) to the pier area gave way to a couple of good restaurants and bars. Great Thai food at the Hippo restaurant. This is a great hotel and area if you just want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Very relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. I didn't want to leave. Same 5 minute walk to the Ferry where you can travel 40 minutes by water to Central in Hong Kong. In that same area are bus terminals that can take you to the Big Buddha and to the Fishing Village. Busses leave there on a very regular basis...Very convenient to use. Times are posted. To get to the hotel from HKG, you can take the A-35 bus from the HKG Airport. It goes directly to Mui Wo, where it drops you by the Ferry area. You walk that 5 minute walk to the hotel from there. So have luggage with wheels. A "BLUE" taxi from the airport cost about HK $170 and takes about 40 minutes. The bus takes a good hour or a little more, but I think it is direct to Mui Wo. Great view of the water from the hotel. Beach right outside. The best view is the "Beach View" rooms..New building. Breakfast about 30 yards from the water (Sit outside if the weather is good). This area is a nice getaway. I didn't want to leave. I'd rate this hotel a 4 star hotel. If you would rather stay in a 5 star Beach Resort on Lantau, try the Gold Coast Hotel. It is not in Mui Wo, but it is a very nice hotel with many restaraunts in and outside the hotel. This hotel is also located on a Beach.
