This older, yet still beautiful place is actually two former hotels refurbished and combined and placed in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. The buildings are linked together by a lobby filled with attractive wicker furniture. The bay windows out front add a tasteful and refined touch to the hotel's appearance. Your room will either overlook the city or the peaceful courtyard filled with trees. Every room is filled with handsome antiques; fireplaces in the rooms are especially cheery during the winter months.

Was there last september on honeymoon, lovely hotel, excellent location right next to gaslamp district, staff on reception could have been more helpful!!! Upon checking out after an eight night stay we were given a bill for the eight nights (which we had already paid previous to arriving at the hotel) The girl on reception refused to believe we had already paid for our accomodation but after a few phone calls were made it was all sorted out by a different member of staff! We didn't even recieve an apology from the girl, but the rest of the staff were very nice. If you are thinking of staying at this hotel make sure to visit their restaurant,it's expensive but worth every cent.
24 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe location is fantastic and the hotel is perfect for a short stay in San Diego. It is clost to lots of transport and right in the middle of all the night life!!!! Great place. The folk on the reception desk could do with a bit of funning up, but hey.... WHO CARES??????
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThe hotel is charming, but lacks amenities of "big" hotel chains. The location is excellent.
