Rimrock Resort offered a quiet, serene and picturesque experience. The rooms were decorated nicely, and provided quality accomodation for a decent price. Not as cheap as a budget hotel, but you definitely get what you pay for in this upscale hotel.
17 Aug 2005 | A Yahoo! UserMy husband and I stayed at the hotel for four days over the Thanksgiving holiday, Oct. 04. My husband is paraplegic and we usually stay at Fairmont hotels because they provide excellent facilities for the disabled. The Banff Springs was booked so we chose the Rimrock as an alternative. We have never been so disappointed in a resort of this "alleged" quality. We were advised the rooms were completely wheelchair accessible and suitable for someone who is paraplegic. They are not. The shower seat was so inadequate that my husband fell in the shower and I, being six months pregnant, spent half an hour trying to get him out of the tub. (I asked when making the reservation if we should bring our own shower seat and were told no) We spoke with the Management in this regard and they acted like it was no big deal. They replaced the broken shower seat with another inadequate seat that was so small my husband (who is not a large man) could not keep his balance on it so I had to help him shower each day. The toilet paper holders were located so far away from the toilet that again my husband could not reach it. We were advised the grounds surrounding the hotel were accessible and again they were not. Every so often there were several steps. I don't know how they expected a wheelchair to maneuver "steps". We spent $1000 for our four-day stay and at the end completed a customer card that gave you the choice of receiving a response, which we asked for. It has been a month now and we have not received a response. We will never recommend this hotel to anyone due to our treatment and I strongly advise that if you are in a wheelchair or are disabled in any way you do not visit this resort. Stick with Fairmont Resorts, same price, far better service and amenities. Remember this is not a low end hotel and for the price point we expected far better.
